Review
Pandemonium Prayers is the debut EP from Cerekloth, and it's one that deserves more attention then it's actually getting. This brutish little release is only available [at the time of release] as a 7" vinyl EP, but is worth all the effort of trying to find your very own record player just to hear it. If you have been looking for a good Death Metal fix, then you need to look no further then with this release. The release clocks in at just over fourteen minutes, but it's fourteen minutes well spent. The production quality of the album is pretty clear, but still a bit raw and hollow. The good thing about this is that the instruments themselves are still heavy and very punishing. Each track on here is intense and really captures everything that's great about Death Metal, from the relentless speed and ferocity behind the track "Tiny Daggers", not to mention the short sound bite that kicks the album off on that track, to the very grim lyrics and phenomenal vocal work on here, mostly comprised of intimidating deep gutterals with higher pitched Black Metal-esque vocals in the background as support to these gutteral vocals. 2009 CD Reissue: The 2009 CD Reissue through Hell's Headbangers is a nice little release for those who simply don't want to deal with finding a record player, or likes their Metal on the go. The audio on here is as the label states: The correct audio quality. This is not just some transfer of the vinyl to master to press on CD, which only adds to the intensity of this release. Not only do you get better audio quality, but you also get new artwork, as well as the bonus track "Need You Tonight", which is reason enough for anyone who happens to have the original pressing of this release to also buy this version, as it is just as good as every other track on the release. If you're looking for some killer Death Metal in it's purest form, then look no further then Pandemonium Prayers by Cerekloth. This release shows that the band has the potential to take the Death Metal world by storm without any gimmicks, technicallity, or fancy elements. With each track being an uncompomising assault that is catchy enough to keep this one spinning for a long while, Cerekloth are clearly an act to keep your eyes on.
