Review
Children Of Bodom have issued an EP from the CD Single off their latest album, Are You Dead Yet?. This is not to be confused with the actual CD single, or DVD of the same name, as this is the Trashed, Lost & Strungout EP. It consists of four songs, and two videos, and really isn't anything important for the casual fan.

As stated, this EP comes with two bonus videos. The first of them is just the music video for the title track, "Trashed, Lost & Strungout". The video itself is of a high quality, and is one of the better videos the band has ever shot. The second video, "Trash & Lost In Helsinki" isn't really anything major either, as it is simply a camera crew following Children Of Bodom around for the day as they goof around, get drunk, and spend money they get from their label, rehearse, even hit some golf balls in the snow! It's an interesting video for when you are bored, or if you refuse to believe that vocalist Alexi Laiho looks really feminine. After this, you will believe. The only bad thing about it is that a great majority of it is not in English, the subtitles are rather small, and it'll be boring until the band starts to actually get drunk later in the video.

So, that leaves us with the four music tracks. The sad thing is that the audio for the single "Trashed, Lost & Strungout" seems to sound better in the music video then it does on the actual song. It sounds as though it was recorded too high and overmodulated. "Knuckleduster" seems to be the same, and lacks the tenacity the band is known for. You won't find this on Are You Dead Yet?, and seems as though it was a track they recorded for the album, but just never put on there. The two cover songs on here are weak as well, with the exception of all but the end of their cover of Alice Cooper's classic "Bed Of Nails", which just sends the band into a flurry of speed and aggression. While this isn't a bad thing most of the time, it is in this case because their cover is actually really good up to that point.

While it's a nice collectable, that's about it. The EP really doesn't offer much in the lines of entertainment except three exclusive tracks that aren't all that great anyhow save for one, an already available CD single any fan will already own, a music video you can watch on-line for free, and a nearly twenty minute documentary of Children of Bodom out on the town. But, at least the Trashed, Lost & Strungout EP comes with all this, and not just the title track and their cover of "She Is Beautiful" like the Trashed, Lost & Strungout CD Single came with.
