Review
To promote the release of Cradle Of Filth's upcoming double disc release Live Bait For The Dead, the three song sampler No Time To Cry made it's rounds and was a free disc that came in a cardboard sleeve. The CD single, which features only one track off the upcoming two disc release, has some great material that featured on the full length prior to this being released, titled Bitter Suites To Succubi, as well as an at-the-moment unreleased track. Even though this free sampler really doesn't do anything to actually promote the release that it was meant to promote outside of making people aware that it is coming if they read the text on the lower back of the sleeve, this is a nice piece of the band's discography that fans will enjoy having.

"No Time To Cry (Sisters Of Mercy Cover)" has already been released, so there's nothing really new here. This song, however, is still a really good Gothic Metal rendition of the song, so it's always an entertaining song to kick back to. "Born In A Burial Gown (The Polished Coffin Mix)" does appear on Bitter Suites To Succubi as well, but not this specific version, which does appear on Live Bait For The Dead as well, and really isn't anything too different. It's just that the instruments sound a little altered in the production quality, and the keyboards seem a little more extended and are obviously altered, sounding more liquid then anything (the best way to describe it), leaving a little more to be desired from the track overall. "Deleted Scenes Of A Snuff Princess", however, is a nice little addition since the song hasn't been released before, but only if you enjoy the techno-esque stuff that the band will often produce as b-side material. If not, this track will either aggravate you, or have you laughing at the techno effects that are made out of the orgasmic woman you hear in the background of the song.

Really, the sampler isn't anything all that special aside a nice collector's piece to a fan's collection, especially since all the material is available for purchase. If you're a die-hard fan that needs to have this in your collection, then more power to you. The rest of the metal world can simply shrug this one off.
