Fear Factory are back and ready to unleash their latest album, Transgression, onto their hungry fans. But, upon one listen to this disc, it's obvious the new album will be a blend of some heavier cuts, as well as more mainstream tracks.

"540,000 Fehrenheit sounds like a typical Fear Factory song, but isn't really anything impressive. After repeat listenings, the more mainstream appeal of the song, as well as the randomly shout certain words while singing aspect of every verse will wear thin quickly. However, "Moment Of Impact" brings a glimmer of hope if you enjoyed the band around the time of the album Obsolete.

However, "Spinal Compression" is perhaps the best track out of them all. The song is just heavy, and sounds like they incorporated material from their roots, blending it with their current sound. Basically this sampler shows three different sides of Fear Factory, really. With that being the case, what can the full length sound like? Who knows, but hopefully it'll sound more like "Spinal Compression" then "540,000 Fahrenheit".
