With one of the longest album titles that one could ever see grace a release on a well known metal label, Fleshcrawl's As Blood Rains From The Sky... We Walk The Path Of Endless Fire brings us yet another solid death metal album. The band continues to mature their sound, making this one of the more tighter albums, and definitely one of the stand out releases of their discography.

"March Of The Dead" is just your typical intro, which acts more as part of the track "Path Of Endless Fire", the latter being as typical as the introduction. The album really kicks into high gear as soon as "Under The Banner Of Death" kicks in, with is just a killer track with some catchy guitar work. This doesn't represent the rest of the album though, as "Embraced By Evil" has a more technical feel to it, as well as "The Dark Side Of My Soul". So while the album blends either technical or catchy riffs and drum work, it's when you hit "Impure Massacre of Bloody Souls" that the album just goes for a straight forward old school death metal sound.

There really isn't anything negative that can be said about this release. Every song on this album is solid, including one of the two cover tracks. "Swords Of Darkness" is just one heavy as hell death fused thrash song that will make you want to head bang, or run to the nearest living person and start a pit. "The Day Man Lost", a cover song originally performed by Carnage, however, is still a good song, but perhaps the second boring song on this release (the first being "Path Of Endless Fire"). The only time the song becomes rather enjoyable is near the end, mostly because of the additional guitar effect that is performed in the background. But, luckily this track is tacked onto the end of only certain versions of this album, leaving "Feed The Demon's Heart" as the true final track of the release.

While As Blood Rains From The Sky doesn't really bring anything all that new to the table, it really does make for a good death metal album, and that is all we can hope for, really. While the covers are killer and a nice touch, it's not necessary to track down a copy of this release for the cover song "The Day Man Lost", but with that and one original track on this release being rather bland, this is an album that you will listen to over and over, and will not grow old.
