It seems that, anymore, there are more bands flocking to the roots of metal. The old school sounds are popping up all over the death and thrash metal styles, and Killing Chapel is further proof. Enter The Chapel is one hell of a ride back into the golden days of thrash and insane guitar solos.

you have five tracks of genuine old school thrash on this EP, and one rather long atmospheric track which would have better been kept as it's own seperate track, to kick off the song "Pray To See The Day". The same can be said for the opening acoustic guitar solo on "Reign Among The Dead", or at least cut down from a minute twenty seconds. The first track on this release, which is just a fast paced thrash track meant to make you want to rip someone's face off, and then you have "Chaos & Fire" with it's various slow moments and harmonized harsh vocals during the chorus. The EP keeps this pace for most of the release except for the chorus for tracks two through five, and the solo. Yes, each song on this album features a very impressive guitar solo, or, in the case of "Unholy Swarm", one hell of a guitar solo duel.

The only issue some will have is the drumming during for each verse of "Unholy Swarm". While the bass kicks keep the pace perfectly, the rest could have been sped up a little more. But aside that this is a great release that will take you back in time to when thrash reigned supreme. It's just too bad there weren't more songs on here like the opener, "Pray To See The Day", but the other tracks are stong as well, even if "Chaos & Fire" may grow stale after repeat listens.
