Have you ever wondered what [the book series] Twilight would sound like if the main stars formed a band? Well, neither did I. Nope. Never. But, sadly, the time has come. Vampires Everywhere! is essentially that, a Screamo band with Electronica influences. And honestly, if it weren't for the Electronica aspect, this wouldn't be that bad a release.
The EP is composed of two tracks and, like usual, one song is better then the other. "Immortal Love" kicks things off by setting a mainstream "scene kid" concept of a gothic aura before some decent music actually kicks in and is quite enjoyable until the monotone screaming vocals come in. After a few spins they'll become somewhat tolerable, but the synthesized singing vocals are easily the most annoying aspect of the band's music, really dragging the song down. Had the band opted for a different way to express their Electronica lust then doing that for the chorus, then perhaps this song and "The Embrace" could have been saved. However, there's pretty much no excuse for the latter track, "The Embrace", which, even without the synthesized singing vocals, is actually a rather bland slow paced song.
Of course there are going to be people out there who absolutely love this. There's no denying the band has some talent with this release, and it really is not that bad a release, it could have just been better. Why this band was signed to Century Media Records in the first place is mind-boggling, and hopefully not a sign of things to come from them. If you're in the target demographic of pre-teens to early adults who read and love Twilight and feel distort-to-point-of-off-key clean vocals mixed with whining screaming is your thing, then you're gonna love this EP. If not, you'll probably give it a few spins and never care again.
