Ancient VVisdom Announce North America Tour with Sólstafir

Posted March 19, 2015 by Apoch.

Ancient VVisdom: Sacrificial

Occult death rock conjurors, ANCIENT VVISDOM, will bring their rituals to the stage on a near month-long live run alongside atmospheric Icelandic metallers, Sólstafir. The ceremonies will commence on April 22nd in Brooklyn and swarm twenty-five cities, the journey coming to a close on May 20th in Richmond.

Comments the band, “Great news Lucifer’s children, we are back on the road with a vengeance and this is going to be the sickest one yet! We are honored to share the stage with Solstafir!”

ANCIENT VVISDOM will be touring in support of their Sacrificial long player, unleashed last year via Magic Bullet Records. Produced by founding vocalist Nathan Opposition, engineered by Travis Bonner at The Diamond Factory Studios in Austin and mastered by Paul Logus (Anthrax, Clutch, Hellyeah, Shadows Fall et al) at Taloowa Mastering, Sacrificial finds the collective at their most eloquent conjuring dark, penetrating neofolkian psalms of unholiness that are at once melodic, catchy and maniacally addictive.

In a 9.5/10 rating, This Is Not A Scene commends the band’s “unsettling occult atmosphere,” further applauding an “outstanding album” that’s “more effective than a hex.” The Sludgelord celebrates “another album of great hooks and infectious melodies,” as well as an “odd mixture of pop sensibilities and occult lyrics that will not fade from memory any time soon,” while Ghost Cult notes, “Both enticing and enchanting, Sacrificial captures the listener with its satisfying mixture of heaviness and melody. While the sound has certainly taken a stronger step towards the most traditional occult metal style, this record has proved it is certainly not a bad move from the band. With strong riffs, a great mix and catchy vocal melodies, Sacrificial would have the Devil himself tapping away to the odd track.” Elsewhere the sentiment echoes. Hellride Music crowns the record a, “vital, unflinching work reflective of their passions and beliefs,” Metal Underground champions, “a fantastic effort that perfectly straddles the line between melody and heaviness…” while The Grim Tower praises a ” Satanic praise and worship album,” adding, “Songs like ‘Blood Offering’ and ‘Devil’s Work’ further cement this, showing off Nathan’s glass-like clean approach while the rest of the band channel Type O Negative and mid-era Tiamat to some extent.”
