Like a usual EP, Dead Eyes See No Future features the track that it is named after from the album it was recorded for (which in this case was Anthems Of Rebellion) and the token live tracks and cover tracks. In this case, there are two live tracks, and it is funny to know that while Arch Enemy has kept themselves clean as far as the lyrics go, the new vocalist let’s the obscenities flow on stage. Aside that fact, the live tracks on here are decent spins, but nothing really spectacular unless you are curious as to how the band sounds live.
And then we get to the cover songs. “Symphony Of Destruction” is another not-too-impressive track, just being the original with a melodic death metal edge. However, the cover of “”Kill With Power” seems as though the band really put some effort into making this great song their own. However, there isn’t much originality as far as “Incarnated Solvent Abuse” is concerned, but what do you expect when the band is covering a song one of the members originally wrote? Remember, guitarist Michael Amott was in the band Carcass.
Sure the song the EP is based on is good, and the live tracks, as well as music video for the song “We Will Rise” add to the value, but the only really good thing about the album are the last two cover tracks. Aside from that being the main reason to track this CD down, it’s just another average EP for everyone.
