Right, that being said, this album is pretty damn good. As stated above, the music is usually of a slow pace with a very deep atmosphere of depression. However, that is not the case with every song. Take “Countless” and “Ten Strip” for example. While the first two tracks are based heavily on creating this very desolate like ambience, there are songs, such as those, which are of a much faster pace and in the vein of your typical doom metal bands. Also, like this track, some of the songs on here have a bit of a southern rock feel to them, and what could be considered hardcore breakdowns.
As the album progresses, the southern aspect in the songs becomes more noticable. Tracks like “Association Of Known Undesirables” and “Fucked” will make you realize that, while “Plasma Center Blues” and “Npon” are good songs, they are by far the weakest of the release. The songs just seem to get progressively heavier, and dirtier in sound, with each new track, “Fucked” being the best song off the album due to the sheer tenacity and guitar work that the other songs greatly lack. If only the rest of the album could be like that track, this would be one hell of a must own release.
You better brace yourself for Facedowninshit, as this band is definitely one you will need to watch out for. NPON is definitely one hell of a release with that, you may not enjoy on your first spin, but the more you listen to it, the more you will appreciate the mixture of sounds on this release. While some of the material on here may not be too original, but it’s definitely one heck of a sludy doom mess you can relax to, and probably make your happy as hell neighbors feel depressed beyond belief.
