The 69 Eyes
Helsinki, Finland’s vampire rockers, THE 69 EYES, have put the finishing touches on their tenth studio album due out in the U.S. and Canada this fall via Nuclear Blast Records.

Lead singer Jyrki 69 shares the following about the upcoming release:

“We’ve never really celebrated anything [and] not that we’ve been playing 20 years or so (vampires don’t count decades). Thus, this time, we thought to celebrate a bit: the new album is entitled as tenth in Roman numbers; it’ll be called X. The sound is the most melodic, yet melancholic, we’ve ever had. Listening to the pre-mixes have been giving goose bumps to everyone here. This is the best 69 EYES album ever done!”

X was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden with the On The Verge production team. The mixing was done by Stefan Boman (The Hellacopters, Bullet).

“Red” will be the album’s first single and will coincide with the launch of THE 69 EYES’ vampire-style red wine, also called “Red,” which will be mainly distributed throughout Sweden and Finland.

THE 69 EYES will film its first video in three years this July in Gothenburg, Sweden with Revolver Film Company’s Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, Mnemic).

Prior to the release of the album, DJ Jyrki 69 will showcase his deejaying skills by hosting Goth ‘n’ Roll club night at UNDEAD on July 7th in Barcelona, Spain and at FANGTASIA II in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 21st. VIP & advance tickets for FANGTASIA II are available via Seraphemera Books and Music. Check out Fantasia II’s Facebook event page here.

X is the follow-up to 2009’s Back In Blood, which was produced by American Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Monster Magnet).
