If you did enjoy the previous Napalm Death releases, you’re going to love this one. This release seems to feature more of a death metal feel then the past few. “Work To Rule”, “On The Brink Of Extinction” and “Fallacy Dominion” are perhaps some of the best death metal songs to be released lately, easily standing out amongst the rest of the songs on this release with the amazing guitars and drums and, in the case of “Fallacy Dominion”, a rather catchy chorus. The overlaying of the deeper shouting over the higher pitched screams are here as well, but still kept at a minimal, which adds a nice effect to the already commanding voice.
If you happen to miss the more “experimental” aspect of Napalm Death, you will love the title track “Time Waits For No Slave”, which has a slower chorus/outro that includes singing, as well as “Life And Limb” which is just a slower tempo song. “Life And Limb”, however, can get rather old after a little while. But, aside the experimental aspect, there are also moments of nostalgia, as some of the songs, such as “Strongarm”, will sound like songs that were released on previous albums, whether it be thanks to a certain riff, or an entire verse or chorus.
So, between blistering death and grind oriented songs, to somewhat rather experimental urges through the release, Time Waits For No Slave is just one hell of a ride. There really isn’t much to say about the release other then praise. Sure one or two songs may get old after a few listens (“Life And Limb” and possibly “Strongarm”), but the rest is solid and well worth your time.
