Steel Prophet have returned with their first studio album in about six years! One of the most important band names in the formation and growth of the Progressive Power Metal movement returns to their roots with their new conceptual album Omniscient, and I have no shame in admitting that I didn’t get the lyrics with the digital review copy provided. That didn’t stop me from loving the hell out of one of their most impressive releases in their discography at this point! But even after countless spins before, during and after the writing phase, I still had some questions about it, so I reached out to the men behind the Metal in Clawhammer PR and scored a text interview with founding member Steve Kachinsky Blakmoor to inquire about things I may have missed, possible tour plans, and the return of two key members from their past! Check out what he had to say below, and if you haven’t done so yet, check out the Apochs.net exclusive premiere of their “The Tree of Knowledge” music video!
Recently I was granted the opportunity to interview one of my heroes in the Metal world, Max Cavalera. The opportunity came due to his new soupergroup outing Killer Be Killed preparing to drop their self-titled debut this month through Nuclear Blast Records. Sadly I only had about fifteen minutes with him, but that was more than enough time to learn about those early Killer Be Killed demos, the possibility of tour dates, the future of the group, and to hear the legend repeatedly say “dog shit.” Check out the quickie below through the Youtube player or site audio stream below!
Alterbeast had one of the more impressive debut albums I’ve heard in a long while with Immortal. It was so good I knew that I had to get some questions over to the band, even if I didn’t have an offer. But when it comes to bands Earsplit PR manage, that’s usually never a problem. Sure enough, guitarist Andrew Lamb came through and took the time to answer them. Check out what he had to say below!
When it comes to Alcest, I’ve become a bit of a fan. Obviously when Shelter hit, I was anxious to go it the proper coverage. Especially when I was given the opportunity to send some interview questions out to follow-up the review. Drummer Winterhalter took the time to sit down and answer some questions for the site. Check out what he had to say below about the new album, musical direction, and touring in North America.
Last week I was given the chance to do a phone interview with one of the founding members of Sabaton, Joakim Brodén. I may not be their longest running fan, but getting to interview a group that quickly soared into my top ten Metal bands was an opportunity I simply couldn’t pass up. I had some questions about their upcoming album Heroes, and about the band in general including the newer members involvement with it. Check out what he had to say!
