With a name like Oceano, what should one really expect from this band? Well, first of all, one would not expect this band to be deathcore, especially with that name and Depths as the album title. It sounds more like some sort of progressive or experimental band. But quickly erase that thought from your head because Oceao is easily one of the best deathcore bands to emerge this year.
It is usually hard to find tour edition CDs unless you are able to track the band down to an area near you. Some people will shell out loads of cash just to obtain these rare gems. But sometimes, you simply have to ask yourself if they are really even worth it. This is the case with Arch Enemy‘s tour edition EP Dead Eyes See No Future.
The debut album from Agenda Of Swine is readily available to all. Waves Of Human Suffering may take a few listens for some people, such as myself, but once you get accustomed to the old school vocals and the mesh of music styles, you’ll see that this release is just one relentless assault on today’s society.
It seems that most hardcore bands nowadays severely overuse the distortion in the instruments and vocals, as well as just incorporate a lot of noise through feedback, and play the instruments really fast with a sludgy feel in a way that it just sounds terrible. And where the hell are the breakdowns? What the hell happened to the hardcore breakdowns? What the hell happened to hardcore! Converge is the perfect example of this new sludgy non-hardcore noisecore sound.
Sumerian Records, a new upstart in the metal community, have put Akeldama by The Faceless as their first release. This label, and release, came out of nowhere and was a very pleasant surprise going into this release blind.
